PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lay Pray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Caramat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pray comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Fear the Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult. Edward Caramat told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lay Pray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Caramat!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caramat keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A combination from Pray does no damage.
Caramat with the counter takedown but Pray avoids it easily.

Pray closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pray lands in his opponent's guard.
Pray slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pray misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Caramat sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pray somewhat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pray's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Caramat has his foot on Pray's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pray works his way back into a safe position though.
We've been hearing good reports from Pray's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Pray seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Caramat for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That's time! Pray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

As Pray backs off Caramat throws a huge counter combo but Pray manages to avoid it all.

Pray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Caramat's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pray, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Lay Pray was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
