Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dack Fayden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Reefer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dack Fayden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Reefer!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fayden throws out a loose jab but Reefer uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fayden rushes Reefer and presses him up against the cage.
Reefer misses with a short punch on the inside.
Reefer stalling in the clinch.
Reefer misses with a punch on the inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Reefer.


It looks like Dack Fayden has been cut.
Reefer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fayden backwards.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fayden.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fayden is trying to trip Reefer. He has hold of a leg but Reefer is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Fayden persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Fayden drops back looking for a leg! Reefer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reefer manages to kick Fayden off! Fayden jumps back into Reefer's guard.
Fayden wants to control from the top but Reefer keeps moving.
Fayden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reefer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fayden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Fayden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fayden lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reefer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fayden wants to control from the top but Reefer keeps moving.
Fayden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fayden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reefer for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Reefer has his foot on Fayden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fayden works his way back into a safe position though.

Reefer ducks under a wild hook from Fayden.

Fayden closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reefer quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fayden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Reefer sneaks back into half guard.
Fayden is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fayden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reefer can do to turn this around?

Fayden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reefer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fayden has managed to get both his arms back between Reefer's legs - danger averted.

Reefer throws a right hand that misses
and Fayden counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jab, jab by Fayden - just one landing.
Fayden throws a jab when Reefer was well out of range.
Reefer feints the counter takedown.
Fayden looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fayden loads up on a big right hand but Reefer slips the punch.
Fayden comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fayden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Reefer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Dack Fayden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reefer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fayden to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fayden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fayden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
