Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Pulkkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorma Pulkkinen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulkkinen takes a kick to the side of the head.
Sanchez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanchez misses with a double jab.

Sanchez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Pulkkinen with a series of wild strikes but Pulkkinen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pulkkinen rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pulkkinen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Pulkkinen tries to score a body lock takedown but Sanchez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Pulkkinen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pulkkinen moves away.

and Sanchez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Pulkkinen or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez which made him look bad.
Dan Sanchez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pulkkinen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pulkkinen off to one side.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dan Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulkkinen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Sanchez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pulkkinen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Sanchez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pulkkinen on the ground.

The fight stays on the outside here - Pulkkinen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sanchez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pulkkinen backs up against the cage.

Pulkkinen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pulkkinen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sanchez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

That was a close second round but I would say that Dan Sanchez will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pulkkinen trying to keep a closed guard but Sanchez is proving a slippery customer.
Sanchez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulkkinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
