Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Chen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Yushihama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yushihama has chosen The Samurai as his entrance music. Taka Yushihama has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen closes the distance and clinches.
Chen breaks the clinch.
Yushihama closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yushihama lands in his opponent's guard.
Yushihama is in close to Chen's body, working some short punches and elbows.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yushihama can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chen drops back looking for a leg! Yushihama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yushihama manages to kick Chen off! Chen jumps back into Yushihama's guard.
Yushihama is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Yushihama has momentary wrist control but Chen slips an elbow through the middle.
Chen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Yushihama wants to stand up but Chen is controlling him.
Chen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yushihama wants to hit a switch here but Chen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Yushihama there!

Yushihama has hold of Chen's hands but Chen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Yushihama pushes Chen off but Chen dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yushihama tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Chen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Yushihama is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Chen asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Yushihama wants to control but Chen postures up.

Chen throws an elbow but Yushihama slips to the side and avoids it well.

Yushihama is trying to buck Chen off.

That's time! Chen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Chen closes the distance but Yushihama moves to the side
and Yushihama counters with a two punch combo.

Yushihama tries a head kick but it misses.
Chen throws a one two combo.
Chen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yushihama paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chen gets tackled into the cage by Yushihama. Yushihama maintains the clinch.
Yushihama blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A frustrated look appears on Yushihama's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Yushihama tries to break free but Chen pushes him back against the cage.

Yushihama turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Yushihama manages to end up in side control.
Chen throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Yushihama throws a right hand that Chen ducks under and follows up with a left that Chen also avoids with ease.
As Yushihama tries to get set, Chen tries to push him back and clinch up but Yushihama manages to avoid the attempt.
Chen gets tackled into the cage by Yushihama. Yushihama maintains the clinch.
Yushihama has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Chen is trying to keep an underhook but Yushihama manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Chen manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Taka Yushihama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yushihama is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Yushihama off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Scott Chen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Yushihama has picked Chen up - he's going for a ride! Yushihama dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Chen kicks Yushihama off and gets back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Yushihama drives through with a takedown into guard.

Yushihama controls Chen momentarily but Chen frees himself.

Chen thows a huge punch but Yushihama dodges it nicely.
Yushihama pushes Chen off looking to stand but Chen dives back in and keeps control.

Yushihama has a hand on Chen's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Chen takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Yushihama drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Chen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Chen lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yushihama blocking some punches.
Yushihama turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Chen explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Chen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yushihama manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Chen misses with the head strike.
Yushihama is pressed up against the cage. Chen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yushihama down to the mat. Yushihama avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Taka Yushihama has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scott Chen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chen clinches up with Yushihama and pushes him back against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight!
