PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stannis Baratheon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrik Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stannis Baratheon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Henrik Stephens!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Baratheon does no damage.
Baratheon tries to bum rush Stephens with a series of wild strikes but Stephens uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Baratheon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Henrik Stephens has been cut.
Baratheon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Baratheon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Stephens fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Baratheon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Stephens closes the distance and clinches up with Baratheon, looking for a takedown. Stephens pushes Baratheon against the cage but Baratheon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stephens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baratheon tries to avoid it but Stephens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baratheon to the ground. Baratheon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Baratheon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A quick step to the side and Baratheon tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
