The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes gets a double leg takedown into Ramirez's guard.
Ramirez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hughes presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Ramirez misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ramirez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt.
Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ramirez explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ramirez is looking to clinch but Hughes is avoiding it.
Ramirez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And Hughes tries to counter it with a takedown but Ramirez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ramirez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The fighters circling - Hughes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Steven Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck for Ramirez with that takedown attempt.
Hughes with the counter takedown but Ramirez avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ramirez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Ramirez enables Hughes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ramirez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hughes throws a sloppy strike and Ramirez has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Hughes is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Ramirez!
