PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Pitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will Pitt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonard Bradley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Pitt!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitt fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pitt throws a push kick but Bradley slaps the foot to one side.
A quick step to the side and Bradley tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Will Pitt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pitt misses with a body kick.
Pitt avoids the head kick by Bradley.
Pitt looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Pitt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bradley's waist but Bradley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pitt off to one side.
Pitt wants to clinch up but Bradley keeps it at a distance.
Bradley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bradley fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pitt tries to close the distance and clinch but Bradley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pitt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bradley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pitt moves in looking to clinch but Bradley pushes him off.

Pitt looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bradley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pitt.
Pitt shoots in looking for a takedown but Bradley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pitt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Leonard Bradley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Pitt.

Bradley moves into the clinch successfully.
Bradley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pitt smiles and moves away.
Pitt doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bradley counters with a left and a right that stings Pitt.
Bradley dodges the punch combination from Pitt.
Bradley was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Pitt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Bradley is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pitt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bradley breaks from the clinch.
Bradley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pitt drives through and clinches with Bradley against the cage.
Bradley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pitt avoids it.

Bradley tightens his grip and picks Pitt up, before dumping him to the ground. Pitt manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bradley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pitt is trying to keep Bradley in close.
Bradley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bradley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pitt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bradley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pitt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bradley tries to avoid it but Pitt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bradley to the ground. Bradley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pitt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bradley closes the distance and pushes Pitt back into the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pitt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Bradley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bradley leaves Pitt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bradley tries to keep at a distance but Pitt has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bradley has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pitt regains guard immediately.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pitt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bradley defends well.

Bradley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pitt, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pitt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bradley uses from the top position.

Bradley keeps the fight on the outside.
Bradley swats away the attempt to clinch by Pitt.
Pitt tries to clinch up but Bradley circles away and keeps his distance.
Bradley is looking for a counter combo.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pitt. Bradley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bradley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pitt manages to circle out of the way.

Bradley has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Pitt tries to clinch up but Bradley circles away and keeps his distance.
Bradley is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Pitt.
Pitt is breathing heavily.

Bradley is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bradley moves into range and clinches up with Pitt.
Bradley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pitt can do to turn this around?

Bradley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pitt was well out of range. Poor timing from Bradley.
Pitt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bradley avoids it really well and circles away.

Bradley has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Pitt is on him like a limpet, forcing Bradley back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pitt throws a head kick that misses.
Bradley swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Horrible takedown attempt by Pitt or perhaps it was just good defense by Bradley, which made it look bad.

Bradley is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pitt can't fight it off and eventually Bradley manages to take the fight to the floor. Pitt looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bradley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Pitt wants to control from the top but Bradley keeps moving.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bradley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bradley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bradley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Bradley has clasped his hands together around Pitt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Pitt is trying to control Bradley's posture but Bradley avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pitt will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Well Bradley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
