And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren McCarty!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarty works Stampfer's body with a nice hook.
We've been hearing reports that Stampfer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
McCarty misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Stampfer rushes McCarty and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Stampfer throws a head punch that misses.
Stampfer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McCarty.
Stampfer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Stampfer has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McCarty is trying to keep an underhook but Stampfer manages to get the takedown into half guard.
McCarty is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stampfer is looking to advance position but McCarty won't allow it.
Stampfer uses his free foot to push down on McCarty's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McCarty.
Stampfer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McCarty is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McCarty sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Stampfer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Stampfer is thwarting McCarty's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Paul Stampfer will probably get the nod.

A little jabbing left from McCarty on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McCarty cracks Stampfer with a right hand to the side of the head.
and McCarty counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Stampfer! He's just covering up as McCarty starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
