The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzpatrick tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bellafonte was well out of range. Poor timing from Fitzpatrick.
Bellafonte has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fitzpatrick doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Fitzpatrick throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bellafontes head.
Fitzpatrick swings wildly with an uppercut but Bellafonte uses good head movement to avoid it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bellafonte.
Bellafonte has clasped his hands together around Fitzpatrick's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitzpatrick is trying to control Bellafonte's posture but Bellafonte avoids it.
Fitzpatrick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Bellafonte working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fitzpatrick is pressing down on Bellafonte's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Bellafonte stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Fitzpatrick has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Bellafonte manages to get his head free but now Fitzpatrick has transitioned to an armbar! Bellafonte grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Fitzpatrick! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
