Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arya Reza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sohaib Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reza comes to the cage accompanied by Fort minor - Remeber the NAME !. Ali is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Young Punx & Count Bass D - Ready For The Fight. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arya Reza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sohaib Ali!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Reza working away.
Reza trying to control the action but Ali is working from the bottom.
Ali managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Reza.
Reza is trying to ground and pound but Ali uses the momentary lack of control by Reza to regain half guard.
It looks like Reza is going to stand back up.
Ali tries to get to full guard but Reza has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reza not landing any meaningful shots this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ali throws a head kick but Reza moves out of range.
Ali looks for a takedown but Reza sprawls well.
Reza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ali has Reza up against the cage in a clinch.

Ali has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reza uses from the top position.

Reza is in close to Ali's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Reza throws a right and a left that Ali avoids nicely.

Ali throwing hammer fists to the chest of Reza. What's that going to do exactly?
Ali landing with some feeble shots from his back... He should probably try escaping the position instead.
Reza tries to control but Ali wriggling away.
Reza lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ali is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Reza takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ali working to try and regain half guard.
Reza lands a nice shot to the head.
Reza controlling from the full mount.
Ali is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ali tries to hold on but Reza pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Reza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Reza cracks Ali with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Reza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ali is fending him off so far but Reza persists. Nope, Ali circles away and we're back to standing.
Reza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ali pinned against the cage. Ali gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Reza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ali tries to lock up and control but Reza gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ali slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Ali is positioning himself well to prevent Reza advancing to mount.
Ali tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Reza drops an elbow to the side of Ali's head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ali works his way to full guard. Good work.

Reza pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ali is keeping the position for now.
Reza thows a big elbow that misses.

Ali wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Reza passes Ali's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Reza is trying to control the action in half guard but Ali is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Reza controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ali wants to clinch.
Ali dodges the punch combination from Reza.
Ali clinches but Reza breaks the clinch
enabling Reza to counter with a crisp jab.

Reza drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ali tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Reza is looking to take a break and control but Ali is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ali dodges the ground and pound from Reza.
Ali wants to control but Reza postures up.
Ali is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Reza off and has taken his back!
Ali struggling to keep hold of the position.
Ali thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Ali has his opponent's back but Reza is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Ali.
Ali shoots for a double leg takedown but Reza sprawls well. He's pushed Ali's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ali tries to clinch there but Reza circles away.
Reza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ali but Ali pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arya Reza. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Reza misses the shot to the body.
Ali closes the distance and clinches up with Reza, looking for a takedown. Ali pushes Reza against the cage but Reza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Reza takes the fight into the clinch.

Reza gets control of Ali's arms and successfully pulls guard. Reza will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Reza has control of Ali's left arm, preventing Ali from doing any damage.

Reza tries to bench press Ali off him but Ali keeps the position.

Arya Reza dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Reza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ali but Ali pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ali tries to clinch up.

Reza pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ali tries to clinch up but Reza circles away and keeps his distance.
Reza catches Ali with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Reza takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Ali tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Reza counters with a straight right hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ali tries to clinch up but Reza circles away and keeps his distance.
Both fighters circling a little - Ali finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Ali throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ali is looking to land body kicks.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Reza.
Reza misses with a two punch combination.

Reza rushes Ali and presses him up against the cage.

Ali pulls guard successfully.
Reza wants to control from the top but Ali keeps moving.

Ali is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ali breaks from the clinch.

Crunch! Reza slams his shin into Ali's torso.
Reza fails with the takedown

and Ali counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arya Reza. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sohaib Ali has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Arya Reza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Reza tries for a takedown but Ali sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sohaib Ali comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Reza has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
