Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luis Gonalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alec Mantov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonalez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mantov looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Mantov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gonalez was covering up waiting for the punch and Mantov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gonalez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mantov sprawls well. Mantov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gonalez gets slowly back to his feet.

Mantov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gonalez avoids it.

Mantov gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gonalez regains guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mantov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

A close round but Alec Mantov will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gonalez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mantov shoots in and drives through. Gonalez sprawls well.
Gonalez shoots for a double leg takedown but Mantov sprawls well. He's pushed Gonalez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mantov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gonalez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gonalez attempts a counter takedown but Mantov avoids it well and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mantov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mantov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gonalez's waist but Gonalez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mantov off to one side.

Gonalez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mantov's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gonalez wants to control from the top but Mantov keeps moving.
Mantov wants to sweep but no luck.
Gonalez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mantov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mantov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gonalez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gonalez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gonalez gets to his feet. Mantov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mantov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gonalez tries to counter by clinching up but Mantov breaks away and moves out of range.

We've been informed that Mantov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gonalez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mantov down.
Gonalez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
