Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Silva Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nino Maniconi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maniconi shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Silva comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Maniconi jumps guard but Silva stands there with Maniconi around his waist. Maniconi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Silva counters with a big head kick but Maniconi shrugs it off.

Silva lands an elbow that stopped Maniconi in his tracks for a moment.

That has opened up Nino Maniconi's cut even more.
Silva connects with a nasty looking knee right to Maniconi's face.
Maniconi can't break the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Maniconi has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.

Maniconi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
