Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tane Huia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tane Huia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tane Huia!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Huia misses.
Huia misses with a wild combination.
Taylor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Huia swivels and escapes.
Huia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A combination from Huia does no damage.
Taylor scores with a hook.

Huia moves into the clinch.
Huia is pressed up against the cage. Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Huia down to the mat. Huia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Huia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Taylor appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Huia. Taylor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Huia throws an off balance right hand

and Taylor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Huia's guard.
Huia can't keep his opponent in guard - Taylor advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Taylor is looking to take a break and control but Huia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Taylor lands a decent elbow from side control.
Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Taylor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Huia has escaped the position, nice work there.
Huia wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Huia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Taylor is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Huia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Huia wants to control but Taylor postures up.

Taylor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Huia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
