The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalai rushes Zmrd and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Zmrd gets underhooks to prevent Kalai's takedown attempt.

Kalai gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Zmrd missing with punches from the bottom.

Zmrd is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kalai pulls his head out easily.
Kalai tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Kalai missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalai thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zmrd's head.
Zmrd tries to roll over but Kalai keeps him under control.
Kalai seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kalai stops Zmrd from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kalai works his way into side control.
Kalai is chipping away with strikes.
Zmrd trying to control but Kalai flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Kalai missing with strikes from the back.
Zmrd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kalai on the ground.

Kalai has managed to slip his arm under Zmrd's chin. This could be all over... yep, Zmrd is tapping out! Submission win for Kalai.
