The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leon dives in and grabs Kozich's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kozich pushes down on Leon's head and hops out.
Leon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kozich is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Kozich has closed the distance and engaged Leon in a clinch.
Leon lands a shoulder strike.

Kozich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Leon has his foot on Kozich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kozich works his way back into a safe position though.

Leon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Leon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kozich forces his way into half guard.
Kozich slips a nice elbow through Leon's hands, connecting with Leon's forehead.

Leon manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Leon darts in looking for a takedown but Kozich gets double underhooks and turns Leon into the cage.
Kozich wants to counter the offense by Leon and move into the clinch position.

Kozich tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kozich has hold of one of Leon's legs. Leon is fighting the takedown attempt but Kozich gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kozich stalks Leon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Leon's face. Leon staggers backwards, shaken.
Kozich tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Leon defends well and Kozich ends up having to push Leon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kozich tries to bum rush Leon with a series of wild strikes but Leon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Leon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kozich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Leon somewhat.

Leon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kozich pulls his leg out and moves away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kozich or perhaps it was just good defense by Leon, which made it look bad.

Leon shoots for a takedown but Kozich saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Leon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Leon has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kozich has passed into side control.
Leon tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Jan Kozich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Leon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kozich takes a swing at Leon's ribcage but misses.
Leon swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kozich moves out of range as Leon strikes.
Leon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Leon shoots in and bounces Kozich off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kozich pushes Leon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Leon lands a right hand.
Leon lands an elbow inside that Kozich shrugs off.

Kozich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Leon swats away the attempt to clinch by Kozich.
Kozich tries to clinch there but Leon circles away.

Kozich rushes Leon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kozich has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kozich tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leon smiles and moves away.

Kozich leaves Leon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Leon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kozich is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kozich manages to break the clinch.
Leon blocks a low kick nicely.
Leon is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kozich.

and Leon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kozich misses with a wild body shot.
Abdul Leon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kozich decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Leon is trying to control but Kozich passes into side control!
Kozich lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Leon down.

Kozich is trying to get an arm triangle but Leon is defending well.
Abdul Leon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jan Kozich is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Leon tries to bench press Kozich off him but Kozich keeps the position.

I would just about give that final round to Jan Kozich.
