Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ambrose Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urmas Tamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ambrose Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Urmas Tamm!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tamm shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Alvarez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tamm is working for a kimura but Alvarez is defending it quite comfortably.
Tamm is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Tamm wants to take a breather but Alvarez is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tamm is controlling the pace.

Tamm decides to stand and escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tamm tries to keep at a distance but Alvarez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tamm manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Tamm gets control of Alvarez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tamm will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tamm is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Alvarez won't allow Tamm to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tamm is on top in guard.

Alvarez wants to sweep but no luck.

Tamm decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tamm.
Tamm scores with a hook to the body. Alvarez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Tamm moves into the clinch.

Alvarez pulls guard effortlessly.
Tamm wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.

Alvarez keeping moving, preventing Tamm from controlling successfully.
Tamm is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tamm trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urmas Tamm dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Tamm fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvarez, pushing him back against the cage.

Tamm decides to pull guard.
Tamm pulls Alvarez in close to his closed guard and prevents Alvarez from doing any damage or advancing position.

Tamm bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard.

Alvarez throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tamm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alvarez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tamm is one step ahead there.
Tamm trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tamm controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Tamm. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Tamm pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alvarez is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tamm stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Alvarez really is a fat lump.

Alvarez tries to sprawl but Tamm drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Tamm has Alvarez up against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Alvarez is pushing Tamm up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Tamm gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Alvarez regains guard.

Tamm decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alvarez, up you get!
Tamm keeps the fight on the outside.
Tamm lands a jab to Alvarez's midsection.

Tamm decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Alvarez is trying to escape back to his feet but Tamm uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tamm tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tamm has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tamm decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Tamm drives through with a takedown into Alvarez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Alvarez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tamm presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tamm pulls guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urmas Tamm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Alvarez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Alvarez is looking to clinch but Tamm is avoiding it.

Tamm shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Tamm passes Alvarez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Alvarez is looking to improve his position.
Tamm trying to advance position but Alvarez counters by regaining guard.

Tamm is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Alvarez keeping full guard, as Tamm tries to pass.

Tamm wants to pass the guard but Alvarez is keeping the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tamm working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tamm stops Alvarez from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Alvarez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tamm manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Despite the aggression on Tamm's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Tamm looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Alvarez!

Alvarez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Tamm tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Tamm is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alvarez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Alvarez is not content to let Tamm control the position.

Ambrose Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Urmas Tamm is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Alvarez is not content to let Tamm control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Urmas Tamm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tamm has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
