The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pasi slips a straight right by Inoke.
Inoke misses with a looping left.
Inoke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Inoke shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Pat Inoke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pasi is looking for a sweep. Inoke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pasi feints and then cracks Inoke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Inoke down.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pasi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Pasi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Inoke to his feet.
Pasi dips to his left and cracks Inoke with an uppercut!

Inoke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pasi circles away quickly and effectively.

Pasi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Inoke throws a lazy right hand but Pasi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Inoke has control of Pasi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pasi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
