Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sum Yung Gai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhengtao Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sum Yung Gai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhengtao Wei!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gai decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gai looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Wei wants to control but Gai is keeping busy.
Wei is refusing to be controlled, as Gai sits in half guard.
Gai is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wei is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gai looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gai is keen to just control but Wei is a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wei controlling the position well.
Wei is refusing to be controlled, as Gai sits in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gai misses with a wild body shot.
A decent looking cross lands there for Wei.
Wei avoids the head kick by Gai.

Gai takes the fight into the clinch.
Gai lands a nice knee to the body.
Gai putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Wei in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Gai wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wei has him pressed against the cage.
Wei lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Wei can't find room to land a body shot as Gai controls the action.
Still in the clinch, Gai scores with a nice short uppercut.

Gai works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Wei blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wei avoiding damage as Gai throws knees to the body.
Gai drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wei gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wei's elbow.
Gai is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Gai gets through Wei's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gai is leaning against Wei and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Wei tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wei lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Wei - that landed with a thud.
Gai tries to land a knee to the head but Wei blocks with his arms.

Wei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gai lands a nice hook to Wei's body. Wei takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wei scores with a nice body kick.
Gai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Wei avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A big right from Gai misses.
Wei misses with a two punch combination.
Wei swings for the body but Gai moves out of range.
Gai throws a leg kick which misses Wei's front leg but catches the back leg as Wei tries to avoid it.
Gai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wei follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Wei circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Wei. No joy for Gai on that attempt.
Wei attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
We've been told by Gai's head coaches at Canadian Dragon MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gai throws a big shot that misses.
Wei throws a lazy right hand but Gai sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wei's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gai connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wei scrambles back to his feet.
Sum Yung Gai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gai steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wei.
Wei throws a big shot that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gai throws a lazy head kick
and Wei counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wei throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gai's jab looks to have found its range, popping Wei under the eye.
Gai misses with a body kick.
Gai looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Gai fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sum Yung Gai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A slow jab from Gai misses its intended target.
Gai on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gai just misses with a punch to the body.
Gai stuns Wei with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gai throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Wei steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sum Yung Gai dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A punch combination from Gai misses.
Gai throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Wei's head.
Gai is looking to land body kicks.
Wei lands with a hook. Gai tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gai moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gai displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wei throws out the jab.
Sum Yung Gai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wei drops Gai with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gai looks back up at him and smiles so Wei waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Gai is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gai drops his hands for a split second and Wei immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Gai face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Wei follows up with a right hand that knocks Gai into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
