Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marten Curran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Olov Hermansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curran comes to the cage accompanied by Wont Back Down - Tom Petty. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marten Curran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Olov Hermansson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hermansson has closed the distance and engaged Curran in a clinch.
Curran looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Curran trying to land knees to the body.

Hermansson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hermansson manages to end up in side control.
Curran is looking to get back to his feet here but Hermansson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Curran's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hermansson gets to his feet! The crowd go wild in anticipation of a knockout!

Hermansson darts in and clinches Curran up against the cage.

Hermansson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Curran is trying to keep an underhook but Hermansson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Curran tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hermansson manages to move to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hermansson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Curran gets tackled into the cage by Hermansson. Hermansson maintains the clinch.

Hermansson is trying to trip Curran. He has hold of a leg but Curran is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hermansson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Curran wants to get back to his feet but Hermansson passes into half guard.


Hermansson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Curran to get to his feet.

Hermansson closes the distance and clinches.

Hermansson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Curran pushes Hermansson off but Hermansson dives into side control.

Curran wants to get back to his feet but Hermansson is dominant here and he's now got Curran's back!

Hermansson gets back to his feet. Curran is certainly not going to complain about that decision.

Hermansson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Curran regains guard immediately.
Curran wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hermansson manages to pass to side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hermansson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Hermansson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hermansson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hermansson manages to end up in side control.
Curran wants to get back to his feet but Hermansson is dominant here and he's now got Curran's back!
Curran is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hermansson.

Hermansson moves into the clinch.

Hermansson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Curran can't fight it off and eventually Hermansson manages to take the fight to the floor. Curran looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Curran wants to get back to his feet but Hermansson passes into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hermansson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hermansson has hold of one of Curran's legs. Curran is fighting the takedown attempt but Hermansson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Curran is wriggling around but Hermansson manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hermansson has hold of one of Curran's legs. Curran is fighting the takedown attempt but Hermansson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hermansson is standing up over Curran. Curran looks to escape but Hermansson dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Curran tries to kick Hermansson off in order to stand up. Hermansson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hermansson tightens his grip and picks Curran up, before dumping him to the ground. Curran manages to land in guard.

Hermansson rushes Curran and presses him up against the cage.

Curran is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hermansson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Curran to the mat. Curran regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Curran wants to get back to his feet but Hermansson passes into half guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hermansson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Curran on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Curran tries to get out of the position.


Hermansson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Curran to his feet.

Jan Olov Hermansson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Curran bucks up and tries to throw Hermansson off but instead Hermansson has got his back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hermansson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Curran's body.

Hermansson has Curran's back but decides to stand back up... Obviously he fancies his chances in the standup department!

Well Hermansson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
