Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brady Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henderson comes to the cage accompanied by Foggy Dew/Notorious . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Henderson.

Marquez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Henderson manages to avoid it.

Marquez is taking a breather. Henderson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Henderson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Palace of Pain Gym - VCL - Rio, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Marquez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Henderson to get to his feet.

Henderson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Marquez manages to pass to side control.

Marquez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Henderson's guard.

Marquez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Marquez slips nicely into half guard.

Marquez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Still in half guard, Marquez seems content to control.
Marquez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
