PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sneek a Mouse Marley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yakko Warner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sneek a Mouse Marley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yakko Warner!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sneek a Mouse Marley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Warner pinned against the cage. Warner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sneek a Mouse Marley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Warner throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Marley doesn't manage to clinch there - Warner circles away.

The referee asks Warner politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Warner prefers to stall for the moment though.

Warner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Warner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marley won't be happy with that.

Warner is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Marley's shoulder. That is not cool.

Warner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Warner swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Marley is now in Warner's guard. A big mistake from Warner there, giving up the dominant position!

Marley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Let's hope that Warner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Warner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
