The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medeiros swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Velka looks to score with a jab to the body but Medeiros is just out of range.
Velka swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Miklo Velka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Velka finds it's way through Medeiros 's defenses.
Medeiros on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Velka connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Velka throws a head kick that misses.
Medeiros uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Velka.
Medeiros throws a fast counter high kick but Velka manages to duck under it in time.
Velka dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Medeiros takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Medeiros checks a leg kick nicely.
Medeiros replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Velka blocks it well.

Medeiros walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Velka gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Medeiros takes a knee to the side of the body.
Medeiros wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Velka has him pressed against the cage.

Velka creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Medeiros 's defenses.
Velka throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Medeiros blocks it with crossed arms.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Velka for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Medeiros is trying to push Velka away but Velka has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Medeiros looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Medeiros is looking to break free of the clinch but Velka has double underhooks.
Medeiros looking to throw knees to the head but Velka is blocking nicely.
Velka lands a nice elbow.
Medeiros is trying to break the clinch but Velka is controlling him.
Velka tries to land a knee to the head but Medeiros blocks with his arms.

Velka is stalking Medeiros . Medeiros circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Velka, and it's lights out! Medeiros really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
