The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortes blocks the body kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Stevenson blocks the leg kick.
Stevenson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Cortes.
Stevenson looks to land a body kick but Cortes moved away.
Cortes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Stevenson throws a quick counter kick to the body but Cortes avoids it.
Cortes keeps Stevenson at a distance using the push kick.
Cortes dips to his left and cracks Stevenson with an uppercut!
A left lands for Cortes.
Cortes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cortes works the jab nicely.
Stevenson is rocked!
A slapping body kick lands there for Cortes.
Oh Stevenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cortes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stevenson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cortes lands a big head kick that sends Stevenson to the canvas! Cortes follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ferdinand Cortes!
Our winner, Ferdinand Cortes, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
