PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igydo Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Pickton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall's entrance music is Blue Ice. A fine choice. Robert Pickton told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igydo Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Pickton!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pickton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dall defends well and Pickton ends up having to push Dall into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pickton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dall defends it nicely.
Dall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pickton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pickton follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Pickton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dall was covering up waiting for the punch and Pickton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pickton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pickton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pickton defends it easily.
Pickton chips away with some ground and pound.

Dall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pickton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pickton wants to control from the top but Dall keeps moving.

Dall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pickton defends well.
Dall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pickton passes into half guard.
Pickton trying to mount his opponent but Dall defends it.
Pickton is keen to just control but Dall is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dall is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Pickton jumps into side control!

Dall taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ground and pound from Pickton seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Dall is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pickton off and has taken his back!
Dall is trying to stick to Pickton's back but Pickton is turning into Dall. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dall's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pickton.
Pickton wants to control from the top but Dall keeps moving.

Pickton forces his way into half guard.
Dall is looking to get back to full guard here but Pickton has managed to pass to side control instead.

Pickton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dall has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pickton cracks Dall with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pickton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dall keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Pickton dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A decent looking body kick lands there for Dall.
Dall misses with a wild body shot.
Dall scores with a jab. Pickton acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Pickton tries to score with a low kick but Dall moves his leg out of the way.
Pickton shoots in for a takedown but Dall shows good takedown defense.
Pickton throws a head kick that half lands.
Dall defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pickton.
Pickton misses with a two punch combination.
Pickton scores with a leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dall. Pickton does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for Pickton with that takedown attempt.
Igydo Dall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Pickton.
Pickton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dall counters with a stiff right hand.
Dall lands a jab to Pickton's midsection.

Pickton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dall.
Pickton scores with a jab to the body.
Dall chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Pickton swings for the body but Dall moves out of range.
Dall tried to counter with a leg kick but Pickton avoided it.
Pickton with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Dall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Dall takes a swing at Pickton's ribcage but misses.
Pickton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dall sprawls well. Dall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pickton gets slowly back to his feet.
A little feinted left hand from Dall on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Pickton has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dall.
Dall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pickton fails with a takedown attempt.
Pickton swings for the body but Dall moves out of range.
Igydo Dall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dall throws a low kick but Pickton moves out of range easily.
Pickton looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Dall uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Dall counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Pickton goes for a double leg but Dall avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dall continues to drive forward.
Dall scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pickton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pickton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Pickton is breathing heavily.
Nice body punch from Dall.
Pickton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dall.

Pickton feints and as Dall raises his hands in defense, Pickton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dall is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pickton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pickton is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Dall has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pickton is looking to defend but Dall has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pickton! Dall pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pickton taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Igydo Dall!
A relieved looking Igydo Dall thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Robert Pickton was interviewed post fight and said 'This is most likely they last fight of my Career, Id like to thank the fans, my sponsors and my manager Alexander Biro for this opportunity that will last throughout my lifetime. Bobby Butcher will never make it anywhere in this world and should retire while hes ahead'.
