Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mitch Clarke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Georges Meese!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meese leaves Clarke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Meese wants to stand but Clarke is controlling the position.
Clarke wants to pass the guard but Meese is keeping the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meese can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meese is looking to stand up but Clarke isn't so interested in that idea.

Clarke drops back looking for a leg! Meese is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Meese manages to kick Clarke off! Clarke jumps back into Meese's guard.
Clarke tries to free his leg and advance position but Meese is retaining full guard.
Meese is looking to stand up but Clarke isn't so interested in that idea.
Clarke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Meese wants to get back to his feet but Clarke is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Clarke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Clarke not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Meese is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Clarke presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Meese scores with a one two! Clarke had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Mitch Clarke has been cut.
Clarke is trying hard to land a takedown here. Meese sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meese lands a really nice looking cross but Clarke seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Clarke shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Clarke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meese doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Clarke.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Clarke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Clarke is looking to take a break and control but Meese is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Meese pushes Clarke off looking to stand but Clarke dives back in and keeps control.
We've been informed that Meese has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Clarke is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Clarke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meese keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Clarke wants to work for an arm triangle but Meese is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Meese looks like he's trying to stand up.

Clarke is trying to control the action in half guard but Meese is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Clarke is working for a kimura but Meese is defending it quite comfortably.
Meese wants to get back to his feet.

Clarke seems to be looking for submissions.

Meese cracks Clarke with an open hand slap.
Meese lands a nice hook to Clarke's body. Clarke takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Meese thuds a left hand into Clarke's body.
Clarke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Meese gets caught flat footed, as Clarke shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Meese really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clarke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Clarke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Meese defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clarke is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Meese is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mitch Clarke!
