Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Allen!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen misses with a head kick.
Ramirez lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Ramirez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ramirez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ramirez distracts Allen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramirez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ramirez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ramirez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ramirez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Ramirez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ramirez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Allen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramirez.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ramirez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Ramirez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramirez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Allen!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ramirez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Allen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Allen is in a horrible position here. Ramirez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Allen has given up his back here. Will Ramirez look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ramirez controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Allen closes the distance and clinches up with Ramirez, looking for a takedown. Allen pushes Ramirez against the cage but Ramirez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Ramirez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
The fight stays on the outside here - Allen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ramirez misses with a body shot.
Allen tries to counter with a clinch but Ramirez shakes him off and moves away.
Allen wants to clinch.

Allen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

It looked like Ramirez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Allen shoots in for a double leg but Ramirez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Allen fails with the takedown

and Ramirez moves into the clinch.
Anthony Ramirez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Allen.
Allen is breathing heavily.

Ramirez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Allen uses from the top position.

Ramirez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Allen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ramirez is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Allen has his hands clasped together but Ramirez extends and breaks Allen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ramirez.
