Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Abdul Khaliq Khalid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zill McSwish!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khaliq Khalid misses with a kick to the body.
Khaliq Khalid lands a jab.

Khaliq Khalid clinches with his opponent.
McSwish is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
McSwish takes an elbow to the forehead.

Khaliq Khalid breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McSwish looks for a takedown but Khaliq Khalid sprawls well.
Khaliq Khalid moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McSwish tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khaliq Khalid paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It looked like Khaliq Khalid wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

McSwish closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Khaliq Khalid did well to prevent McSwish getting side control.

McSwish seems to be looking for submissions.
Khaliq Khalid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McSwish on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McSwish is looking to take a break and control but Khaliq Khalid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McSwish stalling away here and it's allowed Khaliq Khalid to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Khaliq Khalid holds on and takes a little breather.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
McSwish engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McSwish dives in and grabs Khaliq Khalid's left leg, looking for a takedown. Khaliq Khalid pushes down on McSwish's head and hops out.

Khaliq Khalid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Khaliq Khalid definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Abdul Khaliq Khalid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khaliq Khalid fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Khaliq Khalid lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Khaliq Khalid defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McSwish.
Khaliq Khalid throws a quick counter head kick but McSwish was just out of range.
Abdul Khaliq Khalid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zill McSwish.
Khaliq Khalid scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
McSwish tries to clinch there but Khaliq Khalid circles away.
McSwish throws a lazy head kick
enabling Khaliq Khalid to counter with a crisp jab.
Khaliq Khalid throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends McSwish stumbling backwards into the cage! McSwish bounces back off the cage towards Khaliq Khalid, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Khaliq Khalid lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Khaliq Khalid celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Abdul Khaliq Khalid!
An out of breath and clearly excited Abdul Khaliq Khalid thanked Sully's Bar & Grill for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
