Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cale Downes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monster Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine scores with a nice body kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Machine.
Downes seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Machine cracks the inside of Downes's front leg.
A nice inside leg kick there by Machine. That's going to slow Downes down.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Machine, right into the meat.

Both fighters circling a little - Machine finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Machine lands a head kick. Downes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Machine dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Downes. That did some damage!

Machine throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Downes misses with a straight left.
Machine will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Machine fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Downes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machine pinned against the cage. Machine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Downes sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A slapping body kick lands there for Machine.
A nice leg kick lands there from Machine.
Downes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Machine can pounce on him.

Machine fakes the leg kick and cracks Downes in the body.
Machine lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Downes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Machine avoids it really well and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Downes is defended easily by Machine.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cale Downes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machine buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Downes shoots in but no luck this time.
Downes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Machine. Machine obviously looking to wear him down.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Downes.
Machine lands with a kick to the temple. Downes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Nice takedown defense from Machine. No joy for Downes on that attempt.

Machine attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Downes is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Downes moves out of range of the body kick from Machine.
Machine tries to land a front kick but Downes steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Downes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Downes steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Machine. That one must have hurt.
Downes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Machine throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Machine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Downes.
Machine fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machine throws a leg kick which misses Downes's front leg but catches the back leg as Downes tries to avoid it.
Machine fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Downes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nice sprawl there from Machine as Downes shoots in.

Machine walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Downes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Downes shoots in but Machine avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Monster Machine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Machine thuds his shin into the meat of Downes's side.
Machine chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That kick from Machine tenderised Downes's leg. Downes is trying to keep his angry face on.
Monster Machine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machine throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Downes counters with a three punch combo that has Machine backing up. Machine nods at Downes to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monster Machine dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A clash of legs there as Machine blocks the low kick.
Machine was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Machine wants to slow Downes down by chopping away at his legs.
Machine bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Downes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Machine is trying to control the position but Downes postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Downes drops back looking for a leg! Machine is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Machine manages to kick Downes off! Downes jumps back into Machine's guard.

Machine is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Downes is aware though and is defending well.
Machine seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Machine keeping moving, preventing Downes from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Downes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Downes passes into half guard.
Machine is looking to improve his position.

Machine is pressing down on Downes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Downes drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Downes seems to have locked his on tight now - Machine screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Downes, as he picks up the win!
