Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lu Hao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hao comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu Jitsu. Lu Hao has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Lu Hao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dennis Page!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hao lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Page circles away quickly and effectively.
Hao misses with a looping left.
Page is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hao with a body shot.
Page fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hao manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Page misses the target.
Hao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Good exchange - Page coming out on top.
Hao throws a lazy right hand but Page sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Page throws a head kick that misses.
Hao lands a lovely overhand right.
Page misses the shot to the body.
A swing and a miss from Hao.
Hao throws a wild body kick that Page sees coming a mile off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Page takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
No joy there for Hao, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A leg kick checked by Page.
Page throws a sloppy head kick and Hao moves out of range easily.
Page takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lu Hao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hao closes this distance looking for a takedown but Page circles away.
Page bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Page throws the left hand but Hao avoids the punch easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Page misses the target.
Page connects with a single shot there.
Hao tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Page was well out of range. Poor timing from Hao.
Page wants to slow Hao down by chopping away at his legs.
A little feinted left hand from Hao on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Page jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hao. Page shrugs it off though.
Hao wants to clinch up but Page keeps it at a distance.
A little jabbing left from Page on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Page connects with a leg kick. Hao looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Page throws a lazy right hand but Hao sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Page drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hao darts in and clinches Page up against the cage.
Page struggles to land a body shot inside as Hao controls his hands.
Page blocking some punches.
Hao tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Hao pulls guard effortlessly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hao bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Page's guard.

Page has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Page lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Hao is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Page is looking to work some ground and pound but Hao has wrist control.
Page lands a couple of elbows.
Page preventing the sweep.
Hao keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully.

Hao looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Page landing some decent shots from guard.

Hao escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Page gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hao looking to hit a scissor sweep but Page is one step ahead there.
Hao keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully.
Hao wants to sweep here but Page controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Page wants to control from the top but Hao keeps moving.
Hao is looking to sweep but instead, Page has passed into half guard.
Hao wants to get back to full guard.
Page thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hao's head.
Hao is trying to get back to full guard.
Hao is staying active underneath Page, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hao is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lu Hao will probably get the nod.

Page catches Hao with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Hao looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hao misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Page to counter with a crisp jab.
Hao looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Hao misses the shot to the body.
Lu Hao is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Page attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hao is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Hao attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Page fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hao.
Page dodges the punch combination from Hao.
Dennis Page seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Page scores with a kick to the midsection.
Hao lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Page circles away quickly and effectively.
Page lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Page buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Page misses with a wild body shot.
Hao lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Page fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hao checks it well.
Page steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hao.
A solid leg kick lands there for Page.
Hao with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Page to score with a decent uppercut.

Hao forces Page back against the cage and clinches.
Page is working Hao over against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Page.

Page manages to break the clinch.
Hao pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hao throws a half hearted mid kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hao tries to land a leg kick but Page saw it coming and moves away.
Hao takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Page throws a jab but it's blocked by Hao.
Hao takes a swing at Page's ribcage but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Page lands a jab.


Hao is rocked!
Hao loses concentration momentarily and Page pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Hao crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Page finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dennis Page!
An intense looking Dennis Page took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'WAR PIKEY'.
