Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hirohito Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Diaz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Hirohito Sato has been cut.
Sato tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diaz lands the left hand.
Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing.
Sato uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaz.
As Diaz tries to get set, Sato tries to push him back and clinch up but Diaz manages to avoid the attempt.
Sato scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Sato tenderised Diaz's leg. Diaz is trying to keep his angry face on.
Diaz catches Sato with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Sato ducks under a wild hook from Diaz.
The fighters circle momentarily. Diaz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sato definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A big right from Diaz misses.
A big left from Diaz misses.
Sato throws a big counter combination but Diaz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diaz throws a body shot but no joy.
Sato throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Diaz does it's job there.
Sato tries to clinch but Diaz moves away
and Diaz counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Diaz gets in close and tags Sato with a short punch that almost sends Sato to the mat! Oh Sato is in big trouble! He turns his back on Diaz, trying to create some distance but Diaz rushes him, striking wildly and Sato goes down! The referee tackles Diaz into the cage to end the fight! Diaz is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Diaz!
An out of breath Nick Diaz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
