PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bredemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prince Tan Gapuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Bredemann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Prince Tan Gapuz!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gapuz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bredemann tries to avoid it but Gapuz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bredemann to the ground. Bredemann escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gapuz is looking to clinch.
Gapuz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gapuz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gapuz throws a nice looking combination but Bredemann bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gapuz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gapuz throws a sloppy head kick and Bredemann moves out of range easily.

Bredemann closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gapuz to the mat! Gapuz manages to get full guard.
Bredemann is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Gapuz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bredemann sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Bredemann postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bredemann is stalling in the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gapuz trying to keep a closed guard but Bredemann is proving a slippery customer.
Bredemann content to stall in guard here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Bredemann just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Gapuz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gapuz doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bredemann counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ryan Bredemann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Prince Tan Gapuz.
Gapuz looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bredemann slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bredemann advances to half guard.
Bredemann passes to full mount!
Bredemann takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gapuz can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gapuz is just holding on here. Bredemann manages to take his back.
Bredemann is hanging on to Gapuz's back as he tries to escape.
Bredemann is riding his opponent, not letting Gapuz buck him off.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bredemann looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Bredemann biding his time, looking for the opening.
You can see the frustration on Gapuz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Bredemann dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Bredemann gets a takedown into half guard.

Gapuz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bredemann moves into full mount! Gapuz won't be happy about that!
Bredemann sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gapuz is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bredemann breaks from Gapuz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bredemann controlling the pace for now.
Gapuz looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Gapuz trying to control but not successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Bredemann is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Gapuz is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan Bredemann!
