Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Mike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pei Mei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mei misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mike went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Mei shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mike manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mei is pushing down on Mike's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mike is fighting to maintain full guard but Mei has managed to sneak the leg through.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mike swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mike swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Mei throws a hook to the side of Mike's head but Mike sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mike was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mei throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A quick step to the side and Mike tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pei Mei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mei changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mike looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
