Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rokki Kukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Percy Schmeiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmeiser comes into a darkened arena with his song building. David vs Monsanto kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rokki Kukko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Percy Schmeiser's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kukko feints and as Schmeiser raises his hands in defense, Kukko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Schmeiser tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Schmeiser seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Schmeiser isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kukko stacks Schmeiser on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kukko!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schmeiser seems to be working for a kimura but Kukko defends the submission attempt.
Schmeiser trying to advance position but Kukko counters by regaining guard.
Schmeiser wants to control from the top but Kukko keeps moving.
Kukko wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Schmeiser manages to pass to side control.

Kukko kicks Schmeiser off and gets back to his feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Kukko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kukko will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kukko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kukko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Schmeiser has closed the distance and engaged Kukko in a clinch.

Kukko pushes Schmeiser off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Schmeiser throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Schmeiser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kukko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Schmeiser somewhat.

Kukko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schmeiser's guard.
Schmeiser is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Schmeiser is looking to advance position but Kukko won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kukko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schmeiser is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kukko, into his guard.

Schmeiser drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schmeiser jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kukko has his feet on Schmeiser's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Schmeiser walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kukko checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kukko quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Rokki Kukko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kukko connects with a leg kick. Schmeiser looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Kukko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Rokki Kukko decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
