The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Blanchard manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Blanchard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ryan stands up and waves to Blanchard to follow him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryan escapes and gets back to his feet.

Blanchard closes the distance and pushes Ryan back into the cage.

Ryan gets control of Blanchard's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ryan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Blanchard wants to control from the top but Ryan keeps moving.
Ryan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blanchard's guard.

Blanchard is trying to hold Ryan in close to prevent damage but Ryan has managed to pass into half guard.
Blanchard looks winded!

Ryan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Blanchard is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
