The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaCrosse wants to land a leg kick but Gardens is out of range.

Gardens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. LaCrosse tries to avoid it but Gardens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag LaCrosse to the ground. LaCrosse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

LaCrosse lands with a kick to the temple. Gardens shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Gardens sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
LaCrosse lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gardens takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

LaCrosse throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Gardens stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. LaCrosse follows into mount!

Oh Gardens is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Let's hope that LaCrosse has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gardens has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. LaCrosse doesn't defend quickly enough and Gardens has managed to lock this one up! Can LaCrosse escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gardens on a fantastic submission victory.
