The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mercury moves into range and clinches up with Holt.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Holt just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mercury's brow.

Holt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mercury after a bit of a struggle.
Mercury stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mercury drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Holt gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Holt is pressed up against the cage. Mercury has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Holt down to the mat. Holt avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Holt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Holt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Mercury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
