Adams kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gaslight Anthem - Boxer. Gregory Adams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomasz Rzasa!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Adams advances to mount.
Rzasa slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Adams controlling the action here.

Adams is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rzasa is just riding it out for now. Adams eventually gives up the hold.
Adams works his way into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Adams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rzasa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rzasa, who protects the arm well.
Rzasa can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Adams is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rzasa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Adams tries to advance to mount but can't.

Adams is looking to take a break and control but Rzasa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rzasa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Adams has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rzasa!
Adams looking to take Rzasa's back but Rzasa rolls and after a scramble, Rzasa ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Rzasa to escape a tricky position.
Rzasa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rzasa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rzasa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Adams is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rzasa rolls with it to try and escape but Adams cranks on the arm and Rzasa is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gregory Adams!
Gregory Adams decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
