PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Sturtsil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delphino Atlantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atlantis has chosen Refused - New Noise as his entrance music. Delphino Atlantis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atlantis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sturtsil tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Atlantis swivels and escapes.
We've been hearing reports that Sturtsil has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Atlantis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sturtsil was covering up waiting for the punch and Atlantis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Atlantis postures up and lands a big shot to Sturtsil's brow.
Atlantis trying to control the position from guard on top but Sturtsil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Atlantis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sturtsil swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sturtsil wants to sweep here but Atlantis controlling him for the moment.

Sturtsil is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Atlantis is looking to stand up but Sturtsil won't let him.

Atlantis postures up in Sturtsil's guard and throws a big left but Sturtsil blocks it.

Atlantis sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Sturtsil doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Atlantis paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Sturtsil - great work!
