Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trinidad Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trinidad Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eduardo Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hurst as he jumps to the side.
Eduardo Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Alvarez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A combination from Alvarez does no damage.
Hurst fires out a quick counter leg kick but Alvarez just manages to avoid it.
Hurst tries a head kick but it misses.
Alvarez doesn't manage to clinch there - Hurst circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hurst stuffs the takedown.
Trinidad Hurst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eduardo Alvarez.
The fighters circle momentarily. Alvarez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Alvarez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Hurst gets tackled into the cage by Alvarez. Alvarez maintains the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alvarez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hurst throws a head kick that misses.
Alvarez misses with a double jab
and Hurst counters with a one-two to the body.
A low kick from Hurst misses
and Alvarez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alvarez tries to clinch up but Hurst circles away and keeps his distance.
Hurst tried to score with a low kick but Alvarez checks it.
Alvarez darts in trying to clinch
and Hurst counters with a two punch combo.
Alvarez darts in looking for a takedown but Hurst gets double underhooks and turns Alvarez into the cage.
Hurst throws a chopping leg kick but Alvarez manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Alvarez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez tries to clinch up
and Hurst counters with a series of strikes. Alvarez will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alvarez closes the distance and clinches up with Hurst, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes Hurst against the cage but Hurst circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hurst is looking for a counter combo.
Hurst throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Alvarez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Good work by Alvarez as he checks the leg kick.
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hurst as he avoids it easily.
Hurst seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Alvarez misses with a combination

and Hurst counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Alvarez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hurst manages to pass to side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Alvarez trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Hurst has taken his back.
Alvarez wants to get back to his feet.
Alvarez wants to control his opponent's hands but Hurst gets his hands free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Alvarez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hurst.

Hurst keeps control of the position easily here as Alvarez tries to buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trinidad Hurst dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Hurst shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hurst showed some decent athleticism there.
Alvarez tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hurst manages to move to mount!

Hurst throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Alvarez has his hands clasped together but Hurst breaks the hold and Alvarez is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Hurst!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Trinidad Hurst!
