Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Contra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randolph fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Contra sprawls well initially but Randolph persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Randolph could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Randolph throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Contra to regain full guard.

Contra is pulling down on Randolph's head. It's preventing any offense from Randolph, at least for the moment.

Contra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Randolph defends well.
Randolph postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Randolph accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Contra is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Contra has control of Randolph's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Randolph regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Contra is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Contra has Randolph pressed against the cage, preventing Randolph from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Contra has his foot on Randolph's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Randolph works his way back into a safe position though.

Randolph throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Contra escapes and throws Randolph's legs to the side, diving into side control!
