Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Florencio Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Baki Koba!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Woods gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Woods wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Koba manages to pass to side control.
Woods could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woods is looking for a sweep. Koba is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Woods wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koba takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Woods looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Koba seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koba blocks the strikes from Woods.

Koba stands up from half guard.

Koba shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Woods is looking to stand back up but Koba counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Woods.

Koba with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Koba is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Woods might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Koba looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Koba is looking for a kimura but Woods is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Koba to get the leverage.

Koba is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Koba lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Koba is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Woods has managed to free his arm - good work.

Koba stands up from half guard.

Koba shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Koba was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Koba lands some shots froms side control.
A lull in the action here as Koba stalls from top position.
Woods prevents Koba from improving position.
Woods gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
A nice elbow there by Koba.
Woods is working to get back to half guard.
Woods knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koba on the ground.
Koba takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Koba is working for a guillotine from mount but Woods frees his head quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Koba has hold of Woods's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Woods manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Koba looking to control but Woods is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Koba postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Woods looks a forlorn figure.

Koba has isolated one of Woods's arms. Woods looking to fight him off but Koba twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Baki Koba!
Our winner, Baki Koba, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
