The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Dean counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dean.

Thompson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dean is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Thompson , into his guard.

Dean gets to his feet. Thompson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dean throws a sloppy head kick and Thompson moves out of range easily.

Thompson shoots in but Dean avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dean ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A counter left hand to the body from Dean misses its target.

Dean appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Dean is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Thompson is trying to escape and Dean transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Thompson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dean! Very nice indeed!
