The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoyce gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Hennan Hoyce has been cut.
Cross lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoyce circles away quickly and effectively.
Hoyce walks into a left hand.
Hoyce dodges the punch combination from Cross.
Cross has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fighters circling - Cross throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cross ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cross is looking to counter punch.
Cross lands a glancing blow to the side of Hoyce's head.

Cross lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cross swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Hoyce counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cross! Hoyce lets Cross back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Cross is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cross jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hoyce replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Cross blocks it well.
Cross ducks under a wild hook from Hoyce.
Cross misses with a looping left.

Cross closes the distance and clinches.

Cross breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hoyce uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cross.
Cross misses the jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hoyce! But no joy.
Cross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hoyce swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hoyce lands a body shot.
Hoyce chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Cross fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hoyce manages to avoid it.
Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoyce was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross.
Cross misses the shot to the body.

Hoyce throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cross throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hoyce counters with a nice right hand that sends Cross toppling to the canvas! Cross scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hoyce finish him?!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hoyce avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hoyce throws out a counter right but Cross avoids it with no problem.
A low kick from Hoyce is predictable there
and Hoyce takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cross lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cross's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hoyce under the eye.
Cross slips under a jab from Hoyce.
Cross tries to counter by clinching up but Hoyce breaks away and moves out of range.
Cross missing with a left hand there. Hoyce was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hoyce moves forwards but Cross connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Cross cracks Hoyce with a big right hand and Hoyce goes down!

Hoyce is rocked!
Cross gets to his feet and stands over Hoyce, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hoyce felt that one! Cross unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hoyce from any more punishment!
