Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joyon Horns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Simons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horns throws a low kick but Simons avoids it.
A nice side step and Simons releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Horns throws a nice looking combination but Simons bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Simons leaves Horns with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Simons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Simons works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Nice body kick there by Simons.
Horns tries to bum rush Simons with a series of wild strikes but Simons uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Simons tries to score a power double leg takedown but Horns sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simons somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simons looks for a takedown but Horns sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Simons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Horns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simons is fending him off so far but Horns persists. Nope, Simons circles away and we're back to standing.
Simons tries to counter with a clinch but Horns shakes him off and moves away.

Simons drives through and clinches with Horns against the cage.

Horns looking to sit in guard and control but Simons gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Horns wants to get back to his feet but Simons is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Horns tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Simons gets to his feet - Horns follows without any prompting.

Simons forces Horns back against the cage and clinches.

Simons is trying to pull guard but Horns turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Joyon Horns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Simons.

Horns is looking to stand up but Simons isn't so interested in that idea.

Horns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Horns is tightening it up a little... Simons has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Simons reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Simons taps out! Nice BJJ there by Horns!
