Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Cahill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Cahill acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Cahill!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cahill clinches up against the cage.

Cahill works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Cahill stands and steps away. Black gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Black definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cahill connects with a body shot.

Cahill takes the fight into the clinch.
Cahill prevents Black from breaking the clinch.
Cahill jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Black walks away with a smile on his face. Cahill gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cahill moves forwards but Black connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cahill dodges the punch combination from Black.
Black misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Cahill counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black misses with a hook to the ribs.
Black is trying to break the clinch but Cahill has him pressed against the cage.

Cahill has hold of one of Black's legs. Black is fighting the takedown attempt but Cahill gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Cahill forces his way into half guard.
Black might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cahill not doing much here.
It looks like Cahill might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Black keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cahill missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cahill stands up out of the half guard.
Black falls off balance throwing a combination

and Cahill counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cahill.

Cahill breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Black lands with a straight right. Cahill didn't see that one coming.
Sloppy strikes from Cahill. Those never looked like landing.
Black could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Black ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cahill moves away.
Cahill is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Cahill throws a shot from downtown. Black moves away and avoids it.

Cahill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cahill lands in his opponent's guard.
Cahill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Black knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cahill on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Cahill dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cahill with the counter takedown but Black avoids it easily.
Cahill fails with an attempt to clinch.
Black scores with a one two! Cahill had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Black is looking to stand up but Cahill won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Black won't allow Cahill to sweep him here.
Cahill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cahill has control of Black's left arm, preventing Black from doing any damage.
Cahill is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jim Cahill has got the better of the ground game so far.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cahill is trying to hold Black in close to prevent damage but Black has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Black misses with a double jab

and Cahill counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that.

Black throws Cahill to one side and escapes!

Black sets himself, and Cahill steps forward looking for the clinch! Black avoids it this time.

Black wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cahill has him pressed against the cage.

Cahill has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Black regains guard immediately.
Black wants to stand but Cahill is controlling the position.

Cahill stands up and waves to Black to follow him.

so Cahill counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cahill lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cahill is looking to work some ground and pound but Black has wrist control.

Cahill stands up from Black's guard - Cahill perhaps looking for a knockout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cahill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Cahill shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Black manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jim Cahill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Black throws a body shot but no joy.

Cahill moves into the clinch.
Black digs a right hand into Cahill's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cahill's gas tank.
Black is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Black is trying to break free.

A frustrated look appears on Black's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cahill stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Cahill looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Black has picked Cahill up and slammed him! Cahill can't keep hold of the triangle and Black manages to pass to side control!

Black decides to stand back up. Black steps back and let's Cahill get back to his feet.

Cahill wants to clinch up but Black keeps it at a distance.
Black half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Black misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Black, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Black misses with a few strikes there.
Black moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jim Cahill has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Black fails to land with a series of punches.
Mr Black is winning the standup battle so far.
Cahill throws a sloppy head kick and Black moves out of range easily.
Black misses with the combination.
Cahill takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Danga de danga de dang - Black scores with a four punch combination!
Mr Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Black throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cahill counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Still in half guard, Cahill seems content to control.
Cahill wants to free his trapped foot but Black is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Cahill takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Cahill thows a huge punch but Black dodges it nicely.
Cahill looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Black looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Black throws a right hand that Cahill ducks under and follows up with a left that Cahill also avoids with ease.

Mr Black is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Black throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cahill decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Black's guard.
Cahill controls from within his opponent's guard.
Black wants to stand and escape but Cahill is having none of it.

Cahill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cahill stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mr Black has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jim Cahill is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cahill fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Black, pushing him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mr Black showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cahill has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
