Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taras Shevchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piere St Piere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piere St Piere will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Piere St Piere!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shevchenko is nestled in close to St Piere, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shevchenko lands a nice short elbow.

St Piere really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shevchenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shevchenko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks St Piere with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shevchenko connects with a nice short shot to St Piere's temple.

St Piere flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

St Piere wants to stand back up but Shevchenko manages to pass into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shevchenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shevchenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
St Piere takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
