PBP Commentary

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ogie Oglethorpe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Killer Kintal!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Oglethorpe.
Kintal dives in for a single leg takedown but Oglethorpe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kintal takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kintal takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Kintal instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Kintal's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kintal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kintal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oglethorpe lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Kintal has Oglethorpe up against the cage in a clinch.
Kintal with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Oglethorpe lands an uppercut.
Oglethorpe tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kintal gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Oglethorpe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oglethorpe turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kintal pushes Oglethorpe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Oglethorpe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Oglethorpe working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Oglethorpe in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Kintal is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ogie Oglethorpe!
The defeated Killer Kintal had this to say: 'I've come away from this fight with a lot learned and a lot to practice on. Full respect to my opponent, he fights like a machine! It's back to the gym now for the next fight camp. Onwards and upwards!'.
