Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Nick Henry has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry throws a lazy head kick

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Henry is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
Johnson cracks Henry with a solid left hand.
Henry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Johnson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Henry is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Henry actively working from the bottom here.
Johnson prevents Henry from standing back up.

Johnson decides to return to a standing position.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into Henry's guard.

Henry is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Henry on that attempt.

Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Henry was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Henry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.

Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Henry's guard.

Henry is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson landing with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Henry is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.

Henry wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Johnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Henry is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Johnson controlling the position.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Henry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Henry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Henry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Johnson passes into side control, despite Henry's attempt to control the position.
Henry is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Johnson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Henry is breathing heavily.

Henry bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Henry stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Henry is having none of it.
Henry trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Henry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Henry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Henry manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Johnson is struggling to control the position.
Henry tries to pull guard but Johnson holds him up against the cage and eventually Henry drops back down to his feet.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson fails with the takedown.

Henry shoots in and gets a takedown into Johnson's guard.

Johnson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Henry. Henry gets slowly back to his feet.
Henry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Henry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Henry sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Henry is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.

Henry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
John Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Henry is looking to escape.
Henry wants to stand back up but Johnson manages to pass into side control.
Henry takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Johnson advances nicely into full mount.
Henry tries to reverse the position but Johnson maintains control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson breaks from Henry's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Johnson controlling the position easily from mount.

Henry is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Johnson has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Henry is forced to tap!
