The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ha Ha throws the kick towards the body but Grimes avoids it.

Grimes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ha Ha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ha Ha seems keen to control Grimes's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ha Ha wants to get back to his feet but Grimes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grimes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ha Ha tries a body shot but Grimes blocks it.

Ha Ha stands up and waves to Grimes to follow him.
Ha Ha feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Grimess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Grimes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Grimes shoots in but no luck this time.
Grimes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ha Ha avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ha Ha works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Grimes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ha Ha's guard.

Ha Ha uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ha Ha throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ha Ha displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Grimes.
Grimes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ha Ha, as that shot connected.

I was talking to Ha Ha's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Grimes is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Ha Ha screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
