The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaperoinis looking to score a takedown here. Woods is defending well but Kaperoinis drives through and ends up in Woods's guard.
Woods will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kaperoinis wants to control from the top but Woods keeps moving.

Kaperoinis is looking for a triangle here but Woods uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kaperoinis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woods. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Woods has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Woods really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kaperoinis.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Woods throws a sloppy head kick and Kaperoinis moves out of range easily.

Kaperoinis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Woods did well to prevent Kaperoinis getting side control.
Woods is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Woods is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kaperoinis has his hands clasped together but Woods extends and breaks Kaperoinis's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Woods.
